VISUal artist
Direct work en plein air is central to Frances’ site-responsive practice. Her Dorset studio home-ground is fringed by sea. Imagery emerges out of a relationship between the stuff of place and all she brings to it. The works acknowledge the permanent impermanence in experience.
studio NEWS
The studio became a private space this year: playground and depository. I’ve made a lot this year- and I’ve done a lot of listening. I’m thrilled to begin to share the new work with you all.
The studio will open its doors for DORSET ART WEEKS 2021. See DORSET COAST for a taster of works in the studio
I’ll be open by appointment every day. Book your slot below so your visit can be safely managed as regulations allow.
DAILY DURING DAW – I’ll be offering themed videos every morning on Instagram and via this page.
In this year of ‘staying local’ I’ve been intimately aware of my place within the community of ‘other-than-human’ relationships. Settling down by the waters’ edge in anticipation of a moonrise is like turning up to resume a conversation that began way back before I was a child.
